What is a Mental Illness, Exactly?

Specific phobias and generalized anxiety disorder
Mood Disorders – Mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar depression, affect about 10% of individuals every year and are marked by difficulties in mood regulation.
How to Avoid Mental Health Issues *
* Express your emotions. Simply being listened to can make you feel more supported and less alone in your troubles.
* Have a restful night’s sleep. Sleep and mental health are intertwined: bad sleep can affect your mental health, and poor mental health can affect your sleep.
* Eat healthily. A well-balanced diet can help you feel better and boost your mood.
* Continue to be active. Physical activity is beneficial not only to your body but also to your mind.
* Mindfulness is a technique for being completely engaged and present in the present moment.
* Please stay in contact. Friends who are supportive can help you cope with life’s challenges and make you feel cared for.
Tell someone you’re worried about your mental health and seek for assistance.
By voicing your worries, you can take control of your mental health and well-being. Talking about an issue might help you put it into perspective, making you feel more supported and less alone. 2. Take care of your body: Taking care of your body can help your mental health. Make certain to:

7. Set realistic goals: Decide what you want to achieve academically, professionally, and personally, and write down the steps you need to take to get there. Aim high, but be realistic and don’t over-schedule. As you work toward your goal, you will feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and self-worth. Surround yourself with positive people: People who have strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who do not have a support network. Make plans with supportive family and friends, or look for activities where you can meet new people, such as a club, class, or support group.
